We are in an excursions paradise. A stay in Alta Badia is owed for those who like walking. The infinite possibilities are not even to mention, from the promenades starting from the villages to those linked with the chair lifts that allow from the beginning to explore beautiful plateaux, from trekking that reaches the most beautiful peaks of the Dolomites to the iron paths.

In the two natural parks of Fanes-Senes-Braies and in the one of Puez-Odle, excursions is much more than simply walking, it is an experience to be lived with all your senses, where everyday saves something new, something unforgettable.

Many paths are accessible directly from our Hotel, making it possible a holiday without car and no thoughts.

The Sasso Croce represents a symbol of Alta Badia and it is visible in its whole splendor from our Hotel. You can get to La Crusc/S.Croce on foot, walking through some marvelous "masi" or through chair lifts. Once arrived to the beautiful church, path no. 7 can be followed in the east direction in order to cross a small descent of pine trees and gravel promenades at the feet of the mountains. Reached the wall you will find some metal cables which help you to pass some exposed sections, gaining height quickly until the mountain pass. Following in direction of the peak you will get to the Ciaval and those you still save energies is possible to go up to Sasso delle Dieci at 3026 mt. the view will drive you crazy.

One of the most beautiful panoramic points of Alta Badia, also thanks to the presence of the little church. This place is accessible by chair lift for the laziest, but we suggest you to get there on foot in order to discover some fantastic glimpses of Val Badia. Starting from San Leonardo you will have to follow the Via Crucis that leads to the populated Oies, from here there is the chance to go up towards La Crusc or to extend in the direction of the meadows of Armentara. The top is for sure to alternate the two paths. You will cross the woods of conifers, blooming meadows, walking by fresh streams in an evocative and marvellous natural landscape.

The mountain, which Hotel Gardezza has been named after, is to be reached starting from Pedraces, taking path no. 1, that, in the first part goes through the woods and then faces the narrow valley of Valacia. At this stage, the crossing of the plateau gives us an extraordinary view and having reached the peak of Col Plö Alt you will see the Putia and the village of Longiarù. The alternative is represented by the chair lift Gardenaccia, whichmakes us gain altitude with no effort; after this the path no. 5 you guide us to the shelter Rifugio Gardenaccia. From here you can take path no. 1 and reach the top.

Hiking tour Sassongher

Another symbol of the valley, this peak is accessible from the hamlet Funtanacia of La Villa or from the village of Colfosco. Starting from the latter, you can take the chair lift of Col Pradat to shorten or reach on foot the shelter Rifugio Edelweiss. Going up you will see the particular traits of the park Puez-Odle and step by step the landscape becomes more and more interesting. Taking the path no. 7 you will conquer the Forcella of Sassongher. Walking on mass detritus you will overtake some equipped streches to forget the effort at 2.665 mt altitude in front of an unforgettable panorama on the Gruppo del Sella, Corvara, Colfosco etc.
