For those who are not fancy to skiing, or those who are looking for a quieter alternative, Alta Badia offers infinite chances to have fun on the snow. Sportsmen, families and children will find here everything they have always asked for.
In Alta Badia you will find two centers for ski cross-country, both including tracks for the classic style and the skating. The most important is located in the village Sarè/Armentarola at a 3km distance from San Cassiano and present a 26 km of tracks among fields and woods in a location of extraordinary beauty at the feet of the Conturines, Lavarella and Settsass. Other 5km of tracks can be found in the ski cross-country zone between Corvara and Colfosco.
A sport that has no age, able to entertain adults and children. Among the slopes particularly prepared in Alta Badia the is the sleigh track "Foram" that starts from the Piz Sorega, accessible with the chair lift. The itinerary is long 3,5 km and develops itself in front of a sublime landscape. The plateau of Cherz can be reached by the chair lift "Pralongià" or with a pleasant one and a half hour promenade and presents a slopes for the sleigh of 2 km with a 300 mt. of altitude. Another slope for the sleigh can be found from La Val in direction of the meadows of the Armentara.
Another activity that allows you to have fun, even after a day on the ski is ice-skating. In Alta Badia you can practice it also in Summer at our Ice-rink in Corvara or on the iced lake Sompunt in Badia. Both the facilities present a rental service to get your equipment and there is also a restaurant point.
A new Winter discipline, that combines passion for the snow to the one for bikes. The fatbikes present big tyres that can guarantee an equilibrium also on the snow. Hotel Gardenazza organizes guided tours on the the most suitable paths of this fascinating Winter sport.
